Cardiff Wales Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender Mardi Gras is Wales biggest celebration of diversity and one of the largest LGBT Community Events in the UK.

What is the date of the event?
The main Mardi Gras Event takes place on Saturday September 4th - with a small arts and entertainment festival taking place from 1st - 3rd September.

What’s happening on the main day - September 4th?
This builds on the success of past events with 40,000 people expected to attend the site in Cooper Field. There is a variety of attractions on the field including -
• Main stage
• Admiral Cabaret Garden
• Gaydar Dance Arena
• Market Place
• Food Village
• Fairground
How much is it?
It’s free - but the Mardi Gras Committee do ask for donations from those attending to meet the costs of this event
Who is performing throughout the different venues on the Mardi Gras site?

Can we bring alcohol onto the site?
No alcohol can be bought onto site - all alcohol must be purchased from our fully licensed bars.
Can I bring glass bottles on to site?
No glass is allowed at all.
Is the event suitable for Children and Families?
Yes key to the event is the fact that it is open to all - and seeks to break down barriers between different sections of the community. Look out for this years Unite Family Area provided by Ezeeeplay and the new Youth Zone in conjunction with Cardiff Council Youth Service.
Is there disabled access?
Yes
Is there parking?
No - patrons must use City Centre car parks
What are the timings for the event?
Gates open at 12 noon and the fun continues at the park till 9pm - after which time the partying moves to the bars and clubs in Cardiff City Centre.
